Mostly Plants

So, evidently I am supposed to eat mostly plants.  Doesn't sugar come from the sugar cane plant?  Now I feel much better!  Pollan shares a great Chinese Proverb: "Eating what stands on one leg (plant foods) is better than eating what stands on two legs (fowl), which is better than eating what stands on four legs (cows, pigs, etc.)'  And another one from both Jewish and Italian grandmothers:  "The whiter the bread, the sooner you'll be dead."  I have been looking for whole grains more.  I bought some whole grain buns that I thought were really good.  Grace didn't buy it.  I also made homemade chicken noodle soup last week with 1/2 regular noodles and 1/2 whole wheat noodles, since I was afraid of a family uprising if I just did it with all whole wheat noodles.  But you know what?  You couldn't tell the difference at all!  I bought a  bunch of little grape tomatoes at Sam's Club (and some fish!) and have them on the counter so I will just grab a few when I walk by.  But oh, I sure wish those little conversation hearts were as healthy and that I could have a bowl of them instead!

Here is today's food list:
3/4 cup raisin bran crunch cereal, 2 cups chicken noodle soup, about 10 pretzel nubs, about 25 grape tomatoes, 1/2 cup broccoli, 1/2 cup rice, 3 oz chicken with sauce, 2 small apples, 1/2 grapefruit
